Badghan relies on a single well and a residential water tank to provide water to the village’s residents. Its perilous state of affairs has intensified with the fuel crisis leaving many of the 1850 households without sufficient water supply. Agricultural fields have been abandoned and those who can afford it are purchasing water from tankers and private suppliers.

Current Activities

Exploring various solar water-pumping mechanisms, mapping the current water network, understanding local water management and involved actors, studying water-use patterns of households, testing water quality of springs and groundwater sources, and investigating other potential sources of water.
